One of the types of Duplex is the Super Duplex, with larger contents of molybdenum, nickel, and chromium and mechanical properties of higher yield and tensile strength. As a result super duplex or 2507 grade has improved corrosion resistance properties when compared to other duplex. Super duplex grade 2507 or S32760 exhibits better pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, with its PRE being greater than 40 compared to around 35 for Duplex grade 2205, 24 for 316L and 33 for 904L.
Super duplex tubing are widely used in oil refinery heat exchangers, cargo tanks and pressure vessels, seawater applications, desalination plants, refineries and petrochemical plants.
